Western United join NIVEA Men E-League 2021 season

E-League

Western United has announced a strong team for the 2021 NIVEA Men E-League season, partnership up with premier esports organisation Dire Wolves for the new campaign.

Dylan Campbell will represent United on Xbox for the second year running and will be joined by NIVEA Men E-League debutant Josh King, who will represent United on PlayStation 5.

The pair is set to be a force this season after being crowned FIFA eClub World Cup Zone 1 Champions in February this year.

Campbell announced himself during the 2020 E-League season, winning eight of his 10 matches which earned him two Xbox Player of the Day awards.

The 17-year-old was excited to be back representing United.

“Last year was a great experience for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time representing the club, so much so that I’m now a passionate Western United supporter,” Campbell said.

“After the 2020 Finals series was cancelled, I was sceptical as to whether there would be a 2021 series, so I’m just looking forward to competing again and representing the club, particularly alongside Josh.

“In recent months my ability has hit new heights and I’ve established myself as one of the best players in Australia, so I am very optimistic about E-League 2021.

“My goal for E-League 2021 is very clear – to win both the league competition for the club, and to win the finals series representing Western United.

“E-League 2020 was my first E-League season, going into it as the youngest competitor – despite this, I finished as the number one ranked Xbox Player on both matchdays.

“As we approach E-League 2021 I have gained more experience and become a better player, and as such I’m looking to replicate those results.”

Campbell’s teammate, Josh King, will be making his NIVEA Men E-League debut.

King is confident that he and Campbell can carry their Oceania eClub World Cup form over to the NIVEA Men E-League.

“I’m very excited to be making my debut in the E-League for Western United,” King said.

“I think it is a good fit with them being a new club in the scene and myself a relatively new player to the scene as well.

“The opposition this year is going to be very tough, I think our region has a very large amount of top tier players now with that number only growing so I can see a lot of close match-ups to come.

“I am aiming to perform as well as possible for Western United and coming off winning the Oceania eClub World Cup, I am confident in mine and Dylan’s ability that we can recreate some of that magic in the E-League.”
