Jeremy Downes named Western United Volunteer of the Season

For his outstanding dedication and hard work throughout the 2019/20 A-League season, Jeremy Downes has been named Western United’s Volunteer of the Season.

Jeremy (Jez) joined as a volunteer in December and has since been present at home games and other community events.

He travels from Ballarat, and despite the long journey, is always on time.

Regardless of the task, Jez has always shown a willingness to take it on, which even includes sitting in the dunk tank on match day outside GMHBA Stadium.

Jez has helped at the WUWU School’s Out programs in Warrnambool and Bendigo, always doing so with a smile on his face.

As well as completing his own tasks, Jez was never shy to offer help to other volunteers when needed.

The core values of the club (effort, togetherness and growth) are reflected in his personality, making him a worthy inaugural winner of the award.
