Essendon Royals to sub out training for A-League showdown

Five hundred members of Essendon Royals Soccer Club will be at AAMI Park on Thursday night watching Western United take on Melbourne City.

Players and parents from Essendon Royals will sub out Thursday night training to attend United’s A-League clash.

Home to over 700 players, Essendon Royals is committed to being one of Victoria’s central hubs of football.

Royals President Richard Di Sauro said Thursday night’s A-League showdown is an opportunity for players to further develop their love for football.

“One of our key pillars at the Essendon Royals is helping our players foster a genuine love for the game, and part of that means encouraging players to engage with the A-League and W-League wherever possible,” Di Sauro said.

“We are thankful for this opportunity provided by Western United FC to be able to have over 500 members of the Essendon Royals community attend an A-League fixture together.”

Western United will face City on Thursday night at AAMI Park. Kick-off is 5:35pm.
