Western United are pulling out all stops to ensure their A-League season opener kicks off in style, securing iconic Australian singer Daryl Braithwaite for its Matchweek 1 pre-match entertainment.

Braithwaite will perform multiple songs prior to United’s clash with Adelaide United at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong, including his well-known classic, ‘Horses’. It is the first time Braithwaite has performed at an A-League game.

“Daryl Braithwaite is such a well-known and well-loved Australian artist and we are thrilled to have him perform for our fans on Monday,” said Western United Events Manager, Jessica Sage.

“The beauty about Daryl Braithwaite is that his songs transcend generations, meaning you can have kids, parents and grandparents all bopping away and enjoying his music together.

“Our Club prides itself on our family atmosphere and along with face painting and airbrush tattoos for the kids, the pre-match performance will be the perfect way for the whole family to relax after what has been a stressful year for many.”

Pre-match entertainment and activations will begin at 6:00pm, including face painting and airbrush tattoos.

Braithwaite will perform at 6:30pm, prior to the match kicking off at 7:00pm.
