Written by Robert Petkovski

Wollongong United FC will begin holding a number of trial matches against some quality opposition from the Sydney & Newcasle regions, prior to the 2010 IFA Season.

The team has re-signed the majority of last year's players, who finished the 2009 season strongly to break into the playoffs. A couple of promising young players were also newly signed to the team. The experience gained from the younger players will prove valuable to a successful 2010.

First Grade, coached by the experienced veteran John Fleming, have retained a number of key players from last year, plus adding several additions in the form of youthful and energetic players. The aim is to get off to a solid start and prove to be a finals contender.

The team has begun pre-season training on Tuesdays & Thursdays, and will welcome all fans to come and see them play in the pre-season trial matches.
